AI leaders: ranking of companies effectively integrating artificial intelligence into their business processes

In Ukraine, as in the rest of the world, the development of artificial intelligence is significantly transforming the labor market. While globally AI adoption often leads to mass layoffs and automation of production, in Ukraine — due to a range of crises, including demographic challenges — artificial intelligence has become not a tool for workforce optimization, but a way to maintain speed and scale of operations.

The publication delo.ua released the first national ranking of companies with AI practices.

According to the media, IT companies are the frontrunners in AI adoption. Over 85% of companies have an approved AI strategy, and more than 90% have already defined specific performance indicators for the next 3–5 years.

Artificial intelligence is applied across key business processes — from customer service to finance, logistics, and analytics. This allows companies to reduce response times, automate routine tasks, increase forecasting accuracy, and drive business growth without proportionally expanding teams.

Among the leading companies that have already actively implemented AI, several are residents of the Transcarpathian IT cluster.

For example, EPAM, employing around 10,000 specialists, uses artificial intelligence across various areas — from development to marketing, finance, and HR. The company systematically integrates AI into the software development life cycle (SDLC). Algorithms assist in analyzing business requirements, generating technical documentation, creating test cases, identifying vulnerabilities, and optimizing code. In several projects, a significant portion of the code is already generated with AI support under the supervision of engineers.

Another example is Sigma Software Group, which has been working with machine learning since 2013 and has been systematically integrating AI since 2018. In 2024, the company established an AI Center of Excellence — a dedicated structure combining consulting, development, research, and AI implementation. Internal products include Sima Assistant for automating HR and support processes, Unit Test Generator, and Impact Analysis Tool. The company also actively invests in employee development: in 2025, it launched the AI Champions Bootcamp program, aimed at preparing specialists who implement AI solutions within their teams. Sigma Software’s key approach is that AI does not replace people but enhances their effectiveness.

At SoftServe, with over 7,000 employees, internal AI solutions are also actively developed. The company has created an internal AI assistant, SOFI, integrated with corporate systems, knowledge bases, HR services, and learning platforms. Additionally, there are specialized AI tools for managers to assist in goal setting, feedback processes, and performance management. An essential part of the strategy is fostering a culture of innovation — internal hackathons, GenAI Month, and regular surveys track technology adoption and team engagement.

The ranking also includes companies from the financial sector, including our partner UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group. The bank uses AI in marketing, finance, HR, and IT, developing proprietary solutions based on Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and machine learning. Models operate in private cloud and on-premises environments and integrate with other systems, including a combination of IDP and RPA for process automation. Special attention is given to fostering internal innovation: the most promising AI use cases are selected and scaled through dedicated programs.

The ranking results demonstrate that in Ukrainian realities, artificial intelligence is not about layoffs but about adaptation and growth. Companies that have already integrated AI into their processes gain a competitive advantage — they operate faster, scale more efficiently, and make more accurate decisions.

AI is no longer a technology of the future; it is already a fundamental element of modern business.
